Prior to this, I was making payments on this account to another collection agency and without notifying me, the account was sold to Source Receivables. I have requested verification of the debt that would include an original contract with my signature stating that I am responsible for this account. I called - to verify the debt and then called the collector back. Someone answered the phone and said " did n't someone speak to you already? '' and I said yes is there a problem with that? and she said " you did n't provide personal information so we cant help you '' I told her Listen I did n't know who was calling me and she hung up on me. The caller brought up information regarding a debt from - - -. I had no knowledge of this debt and the caller requested that I make a payment today. I was confused as I have not lived there for over one year and received nothing in the mail regarding any debts. I made clear to the young lady that I was unaware of a debt and would like some documentation showing that I do owe this amount. I request that they provide me with information of the amount I owe in writing and they refused to send me that information. They state that they sent me a letter 10 months ago.
