I 've filed for loan forgiveness with the U.S. Department of Education. Not only did I have federal Loans but I also had private loans with Genesis Lending which I have since paid off. I was doing additional research on your website and located the page the discussed CFPB is seeking redress for all the private student loans made since - -, -, including those that have been paid off. I made sure my payments were always on time so my credit would n't go down. I then found out that the school I attended was closing, and my private loan was being sold to another company. Even though I 've still been making payments, there is no history of my previous ones to Genesis Lending, nor has it been reported to credit bureaus about on time payments.
