Vehicle loan Problems when you are unable to pay Alabama

I took out a loan on a car. I was the primary and my mom was the cosigner. Due to finacial setbacks she missed several payments on the loan and it was repossessed. I was not given an option to pay the total missed payments. I was told the car was sold but not for how much. The company sent the bill to collections but i thinks it was for the total amount. We moved several times and the collection agency started to garnish my moms check. She changed jobs and they still did not get in touch with us.the collection company has now started garnishing my wages. I am a single mother and they are taking - dollars out of my check every 2 weeks they have agreed to decrease the garnishment but only to - dollars a month.
