I keep getting harassing phone calls regarding payments. I have tried to talk with - ( Sallie Mae ) about a lower re-payment option, such as any income based rates, and have been told no that I need to pay my monthly amount or I will default. My interest rate keeps increasing and my amount owed has never gone down in the 3 years I have paid. I work full time at a decent paying job and most of my paycheck monthly is paid to these loans. I have never missed a payment, but I have used all of the allotted time ( 12 months in total ) to put payments on hold due to family and medical emergencies.
