Synchrony Financial Credit Card Complaint

APR or interest rate

Synchrony Financial Credit card department,

APR or interest rate Texas

Synchrony Credit / Sams Club card : I continue to pay my bill, at least the minimum amount due each month if not more, but the total interest charges and my balance continue to rise, even when I have not made additional purchases for at least 2 months. Furthermore, I am concerned that I am being double billed interest, as my " Balance Subject to Interest '', includes interest that was previously billed on my account, and is not solely comprised of purchases. This is what I have been told by their chat rep ( which the log disappeared once I told him he did NOT answer my question - - specifically said that although I paid more than my minimum payment in -, it was not enough to cover all interest and principal due at that time, and was not enough to decrease the balance or the interest that would bill the following month ), and phone rep ( who unprofessionally hung up on me after I asked for an easy to understand explanation of interest charged billed on my account ). I understand how interest is calculated, but I would like to know : 1 ) The exact calculation used for my account. 2 ) Why new interest is being billed on old interest by including it in the balance subject to interest? 3 ) Why paying more than the minimum amount due, still results in a higher balance, where is the additional money going? This is unfair that I 'm paying more than I 'm being billed and no longer making purchases, just for the bill to go up month after month. It appears this is being done purposely to collect more money from me ( if not all their customers ) over a long period of time, since my bill clearly states it will I will have paid $ - if I only pay the minimum payment ( which I could see that happening if I 'm paying interest on interest ).
