I had - -/-/-. -/-/-, after insurance payments had been settled, my doctor 's facility billed me for $3600.00, which I believed to be in error. -/-/- I contacted his office and spoke to the billing department and explained that because the doctor was in-network I expected to pay only my $500.00 deductible. They agreed that I was eligible for the in-network rate, that I owed nothing to the facility, but instead I owed $340.00 to the doctor to meet the remainder of my deductible. On -/-/- I received this revised bill for $340.00, which I paid in full on -/-/-. -/-/- I noticed a collections account reported on my credit report for $3600.00. I had not recived any communication from this debt collector prior to the notice appearing on my credit report. I contacted the credit bureau for the debt collector 's contact information. I called them, explained this situation, and provided documentation. They are claiming that I still owe the original $3600.00 which the doctor 's office billed in error. I attempted to resolve this with the doctor 's office directly, but the doctor has since moved and that office is no longer open.
