On -/-/- I went to a Bank of America ( BoA ) branch on - - - - - MD to set up an automatic bank transfer to - - to pay my landlord their rent. On -/-/- the funds were extracted out of my account and transferred to the account set up on the bank transfer. On - my landlord notified me that they had not received the funds and the information they provided for the account transfer ( routing & account # ) was wrong. I immediately contacted BoA national office and was told they needed to check and I would receive a call back. On approximately -/-/- I returned the call, having heard nothing, and was told there was nothing they could do but I could reach out to the local branch to find a resolution. On -/-/- I took off of work to make an appointment with BoA in - -. There I worked with an associate who, after 3 hours of work and getting the run around by BoA, was able to draft an unofficial letter requesting the funds. This letter was faxed to - -. Unable to receive any more information, on -/-/- I called back to the local branch and was told that - - claimed it was not the correct letter. They needed a " letter of indemnity '' from BoA. On -/-/- BoA generated what I was told was the most official letter they could provide. This letter simply stated that funds were transferred out of my account to - -. Again, - - said this was not enough. It is now -/-/- and this issue is still without a resolution. I know that it is illegal for individuals to spend money that they received incorrectly. So I am just looking for BoA to work with - - to retrieve the incorrectly transferred funds.
