This company has reported a debt on my credit report that I did recognize. When I disputed the validity of this debt with the company through a validation letter sent via certified return receipt mail, the company turned around and verified the debt as a valid debt to the credit bureaus, whereas they were required by the FDCPA to report the debt as " disputed. '' This is a clear violation of FDCPA. 809. Validation of debts [ 15 USC 1692g ]. ( see attached credit report excerpt )
