In - 2016, I closed my personal checking account with Chase Bank. I was told that my remaining balance would be mailed to my address. 60+ days later, I called customer service to see if Chase could issue me a new check since I figured the old check must have gotten lost in the mail. The representative informed me that there was nothing that they could do to cancel the previous check and reissue another one since they did not keep track of the original check number. When I asked why they did not record the check number, he told me that sometimes they do and sometimes they do n't. Unfortunately for me, they decided not to be so diligent in my situation. I then went to a nearby branch to see if someone could help me in person. At the branch I spent 20 min trying to get the manager to understand that I was still owed my remaining balance since I never received a check from the bank. He finally had


4 weeks later, I still had not received a check. I went back to the same branch where I signed the notary and informed them that the check had not come. The manager checked my account and realized that there was an error in getting the check issued. I was at no point notified of the delay, nor did the man seem aware of the mistake until I went back to the office. After correcting the mistake, I was told that I should expect to receive the check 14 days from its issue, which was 2 days from - -. It is now - - and I still have not received a check containing my remaining balance. Every time I try to get an answer from someone, I am sent to somebody else. This process has been obscenely long, deceptive, and discouraging. Though I still have a savings account and credit card with Chase, I have very little incentive to continue using their products given this horrible experience.
