Citibank Credit card department,
Today I applied for a Sears MasterCard and was given a number to call - application number -. So I called the number and spoke with a representative stating the reason I was denied was due to a recent Sears card. I inquired for the dates and numbers. I was then transfered to the recovery unit. I filed bankruptcy in 2010 and Sears was included in my bankruptcy. Except when I spoke with the recovery unit they explained to me that I had - account with them and they were sold to an collection agency. He did not give the name of the agency just a contact number. The Sears accounts were included in my bankruptcy and Sears should not still have me in a recovery status. At the time of my application I should have been approved not denied due to a previous bankruptcy. I have been approved for other cards with this company and not denied. So the recovery unit needs to un-flag my name because it has been 7 years since my bankruptcy. The collection name at the time was - - - and both accounts are in my bankruptcy. Why they were not notified I do not know.
