I was notified by - and American Express ( AME- ) that - would be handling - credit card accounts starting - -, -. In early - I received new - - cards ( personal and business accounts ) with the - logo. I went online as instructed to register with - that I had received the new cards. On - - I attempted to use the new - - cards but they did not work. I contacted - first and they had no record of the cards. After many conversations with -, AME- and - I was led to believe that AME- decided no to sell my account to -. At first AME- told me they wanted to keep my account because I had been such a good customer since -. I explained to the AME- customer service rep that I had already opened a new AME- Simply Cash card account and that I also had AME- - and AME- - - co-branded cards. I further explained that I did need a fourth AME- account and that I wanted my account transferred to - as I was originally told. AME- also told me on - - that - was

would happen to my account. When I did n't receive an email from AME- on - - I called again and was told my account would not transfer because - refuse my account which - adamantly refutes. I had credit lines totaling over $100000.00 with AME- and an - FICO score. AME- told me on - - that I would be mailed a letter that day explaining why my account did n't transfer and detailing my options. I received the letter on - - but there was no explanation. I called customer service again on - - and asked that I be given an explanation but AME- refused. I was forced to apply for a new credit card with - ( which was instantly approved ) but I did n't want to have that on my credit report.
