State Home Mortgage Mortgage department,
FHA mortgage Loan servicing, payments, escrow account Georgia
When I purchased my home, I used the Georgia Dream program, which gives $5000.00 towards closing costs and down payment. I was told it would be a 2nd lien on my property, but that it would go away after 5 years. I just learned that it does not go away and has to be paid back upon refinancing or selling of the property. I have spoken to other people who signed up for this program and they also thought the lien would go away after 5 years. There is not enough information online regarding the Georgia Dream program and I could not look this up to verify it. It is not fair to market something like this only to find out later that it has to be paid back unless you stay in the house forever.
