On -/-/15, I contacted - to disconnect cellular phone service. At this time I requstested that I final bill be sent to me via U.S. Mail instead of via email. The representative advised me that I would recieve a bill after the end of the current billing cycle which ended on -/-/15. On -/-/15 I recieved a notice from a collection agency. The notice states that " this is an attempt to collect a debt by a debt collector and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. '' When I called, I was NOT given the same disclosure nor advised that the called was being monitored and/or recorded. She then told me that I owed a completely different balance than what was stated on the notice. Albeit lower, but different nonetheless. I was advised that I was in fact calling " a part of - '' and that it was not an outside collection agency and I would be referred to an outside collection agency as of -/-/15. I informed her that I requested a final bill via mail when the service was disconnected. She " verified the information with - '' and proceded to explain that she will send a bill but the account will still be referred to an " outside collection agency '' on -/-/15. I was not even giving the opportunity to pay the bill before it went to collections.
