Due to identify theft, I feel behind on my loan payments to Chase Auto Finance. In order to protect my assets, I filed for bankruptcy in - 2015 and included the Chase loan. In - 2015, Chase repossessed the vehicle contrary to the stay issued by the bankruptcy court. While the vehicle was in their possession, the repo agent used it as his or her personal vehicle, got involved in an accident, and put their personal information in the onboard system. On - -, 2015, Chase contacted my bankruptcy attorney and told him that I could retrieve the vehicle as he had filed several Motions with the court. On -/-/2015, a friend and I went to retrieve the vehicle. We had to drive first to the repo agent to retrieve personal belongings and were hit with the $100.00 fee to get the items back. I immediately called Chase and they called the repo agent 's office and told them that there were no fees to be charged. Then we drove to - - miles north to get the vehicle. While at the holding station, we learned that the full tank of gas had been used up, that there was damage to the vehicle, that the repo agent had put his or her personal info into the onboard system, etc. Thus began my more than 3 week odyssey to get my truck repaired, the keys reprogrammed and be paid for expenses related to retrieve of the vehicle. Since the vehicle had been damaged, the value of the truck had lessen and I am now under water on the truck. This does not include the fact that the damage to the truck has diminished the ability to sell the truck or trade it in at full value. I also put $15000.00 down on the truck when I purchased it brand new.
