Medical Improper contact or sharing of info talked to a third party about my debt
General Service Bureau, Inc. Debt collection department,
Medical Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt Nebraska
General Service Bureau sent a collection letter with an amount owed by myself. An additional letter was also sent to my spouse who is not on my account. He is only listed as an emergency contact. The General Service Bureau sent the same collection letter addressed only to my husband with the same collection amount. In addition, to sending this letter they also called to speak with him about this debt. Once again, he is not on my health insurance account - nor is he provided access to my health bill information. I have copies of both letters that show - letter is addressed to me for $190.00, account # -. The other letter is addressed only to him for $190.00, account # -. This is a predatory collection practice that should not be allowed by any collection agency. In addition, sending a collection letter to an unrelated party is illegal. If the procedure or hospital visit I was seen for was not to be disclosed to my spouse this letter could cause a potentially damaging situation.
