Payday loan Disclosure verification of debt Right to dispute notice not received Alabama

I have been receiving phone calls from a debt collector telling me that I am going to be to served at work and possibly taken to jail. When I call the number given, I get connected to very rude employees '' with vague information. All they can tell me is that I got a payday loan in 2009 for $400.00 that was never paid back. They claim the loan has grown to $800.00, but they can accept a lower payment over the phone and this will all go away. I asked them to identify themselves and all they can tell me is their company name, MAC ... ( 1 ) I would never apply for a payday loan ( 2 ) I would never give my credit card number to some random person that called me on the phone. This person had my social security number and an old address, but no recent information. The only way they got my phone number was by contacting my brother.
