April 13, 2016 - My Brother passed away - - -. I turned in his bank card to First Merit Bank Monday - - - so that no one would be able to use it. I provided his death certificate with my ID. I was told when the account sat inactive for a period of time the funds would be released. It is - - and I receive a bank statement every month showing a $1.00 fee being charged for the bank they have.
