There was no language on their website indicating that there would be a hard-pull on my credit reports. Many websites and banks use this " pre-approval '' feature ( such as - and pretty much every major bank via direct mail ), but those " pre-approvals '' do n't negatively effect your credit until you complete an application. The banks are typically very transparent and make it clear when a soft-pull is going to occur vs a hard-pull.
