MEFA Student loan can't repay my loan can't temporarily postpone payments December 11, 2015 - I have an - degree from - College. During my time there, I applied for, and received, private student loans from -/MEFA ( Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority ). These - loans equal approximately $100000.00 in principal debt. Upon graduation from -, I was accepted directly into - - - for - school and received and automatic deferral on my federal loans. However, when I contacted -/MEFA, they informed me that my loans could not be deferred, despite being placed in an in-school status. MEFA Student loan can't repay my loan October 8, 2015 - I 've had a private loan serviced through ACS, and they recently increased my monthly payment without notice. My monthly payment had been $290.00 a month, and it just recently increased this month to $460.00. I can not make the original $290.00 payment each month, having to make installment payments twice a month to keep up, and now they 've raised the payment out of the blue. I have been lied to, harassed, and threatened with litigation repeatedly. Please help me deal with this predatory company.
