Incorrect information on credit report Account status Texas
I lived in the same apartment from -/-/- to -/-/-. It was called the - from -/-/--/-/-. In -/-/- it was purchased by another company. All of my rent payments were made on time, and I owed nothing to the -. In -/-/-, I discovered that a collection agency ( - ) had put on my credit reports that I owed the - $6600.00. The company that took over the -, known as - ( - ), attempted to double-bill me for rent on - occasions ( in -/-/- - -/-/- ). Each time I presented a cancelled check, and was told " there must have been a mistake. '' [ Side note : dozens of other tenants at the apartment complex also complained of being double-billed. ] - ledger, which I asked be provided to me, shows my rent payment being credited to another tenant on - occasion. On - other occasions the ledger shows my rent paid on time, yet being charged up to $250.00 in late fees per month, of which I was never informed ( this over the period of more than a year ). I have never been informed that I owed money - late fees or otherwise - or I would have approached the property management and have it straightened out immediately.
