Citibank Credit card department,
I went online in - 2017 noticed a fraudulent charge of $35.00 on my Macy 's Amex credit card, a card which I have n't used in a very long time. I contacted Macy 's customer service and told them of the fraudulent charge and they told me they would investigate. Three weeks later, they sent me a form to fill out which asked me to detail the specifics of the charge, including date, transaction name and amount. I was not able to do this as Macy 's has refused me access to my account online and had not sent me a statement showing the fraudulent transaction. I have the legal right to receive my account statements and have them sent to me. They deliberately ask for information and then disallow the card holder from being able to gain access to their own account. In addition, this fraudulent charge occurred probably because Macy 's does not require the use of the --digit security code on a card when making an online purchase. I rarely, if ever, used this card but obviously someone in the Macy 's organization is leaking account numbers. If Macy 's enforced the use of the --digit security code which verifies the person charging a transaction has the card in hand, I would n't be in this position I am now, trying to defend myself from a fraudulent claim. Lastly, I did n't charge anything on this card and want them to remove the charge from my account permanently.
