Dear Sir/Madam, In -/-/-, Costco terminated their relationship with - - and required use of a Visa credit card. Citi offered a New Costco Anywhere Visa Card and with it advertised rewards which included 0 % Intro APR on Purchases for 7 months. I signed up for the card but noticed that Citi applied late interest in month 4 which I refused to pay, so the interest charges continued for 3 additional months despite paying off the balance of my merchant charges. I sent Citi several letters detailing the interest error, but they replied the charges were correct. Ultimately, I stopped using the credit card and Citi then charged me a $25.00 late fee for not paying the late interest. During this dispute, Citi sent me a notice expressing thanks for being a great customer and lowered my APR for new and existing purchases on my Costco Anywhere Business Visa account through -/-/-. In other words, Citi twice offered me 0 % interest, yet they charged interest. Also, nowhere in the Citi card brochure or on the Costco Citi Card web site does it discuss a late fee in addition to late interest.
non-transparent, deceptive and disingenuous business practice is abusive, intimidating and unfair. I spoke with a Citi representative ( - ) on -/-/- who told me I misunderstood the notices discussing the 0 % interest offers and apologized for my misunderstanding of the unambiguous Citi notices as if I were an idiot. She then went on to tell me my account was put into collection for non-payment of the late interest, which should never have been charged, and a late fee on the late interest which is even more ridiculous. Credit card companies should not be allowed to defraud the public, and I respectfully request that you investigate Citi 's offensive actions. Thank you.
