Citibank Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection South Carolina
Citibank enrolled my - year old mom and I in their Credit Safeguard without her consent. We have been unwittingly paying the monthly premium for years. When I read about the settlement with CFPB I requested a refund. Though they were aware they owed a refund they did nothing until our request. It took over 30 days to provide a response. They indicated that we were due a refund of $3000.00 in a letter dated -/-/- and they had issued a refund credit that would appear on the account within two billing periods. I called them in - and was told that it would appear on the next bill. In the interim I have been making scheduled monthly payments. On -/-/- I received my - statement and the credit has still not appeared. I called Citibank for the third time on -/-/- and was given the run around again. The credit monitoring department said they could only " email an escalation '' to the refund department but they could not speak with anyone. A response could take " up to 30 days '' AGAIN. I spoke with a supervisor and got the same response. I was then transferred to " customer service '' - said the credit would be on my " next month bill ''. We are talking about - now and all I have is another hollow promise that the credit is on the way and there is NOTHING ELSE that can be done. In the meantime I am still being charged interest on the amount that should have been credited. This seems unethical at best if not fraudulent to delay a credit this amount of time. Please help!
