Bank of America Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Account terms Missouri
I called Bank of America because I was interested in a balance transfer offer they had. The problem was, I needed my credit line increased by $3500.00. When I was connected to the rep, I explained to her what I was interested in and what I needed to make it happen. I then told her that if getting my credit line increased involved a hard inquiry, then I would not be interested. She just went along and asked to update my financial information. I then reiterated that she better not run my credit. She explained that she was not a credit analyst and she had no access to my credit. I said O.K, but if I find out there was a hard inquiry, Im going to call back and fight to have it removed. She then put me on hold. Upon getting back on the phone, she explained that she spoke to her manager and they said the same thing, they 're not credit analysts, so they dont know how they will effect my credit. Then she said " good news is you were approved for your increase ''. So I got my increase with the understanding that my credit report would n't be effected. I even told the rep that she did n't explain that she would be pulling my report, so it would n't be legal to do so. After completeing my transfers, I hung up and checked credit karma, and there she was, a hard inquiry from Bank of America. I need this gone!!
