Citibank Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Public record California
In -/-/-, I called Macy to pay all balances in full through phone, and the Macy representative agreed and confirmed that the account was CURRENT. Then, I requested the account to be closed. Upon checking my annual credit report on -/-/- from the - credit reporting agencies : -, -, and -, I have found that my credit reports showed my closed Macy account was " 30 days past due ''. On -/-/-, I wrote a letter to Macy and requested an investigation to resolve the issue. In the letter, I provided Macy with full name and account number. On -/-/-, Macy wrote me a letter to request me to send Macy the full card number which I did not have because I already destroyed the card when I closed the account.
On -/-/-, Macy responded in a letter stating " Our records indicate that the information appearing on your credit report is correct '' without providing any physical evidence and detail how Macy came to that conclusion. I do not agree Macy 's conclusion without providing any physical evidence to prove that the payment was late in -/-/-. Furthermore, I do not agree with Macy tactics to delay the investigation by requesting the information that was already provided such as account number. Since Macy is not able to provide any physical evidence that the payment was late in -/-/-, I request Macy to notify the - credit reporting agencies : -, -, and - to remove or delete the negative item on my credit report.
