Credit reporting company's investigation Problem with statement of dispute Florida
I attempted to first resolve the following issue with Experian. However, Experian 's website requires that the person filing a dispute first access his/her report. I attempted to do this online. After inputting all necessary information, a statement was provided that the company could not assist me ; no explanation was provided for this statement. Experian does not have a phone number on its site that allows a consumer to call and receive assistance regarding a dispute or navigate its online dispute system. My issue is with - hard inquiries I viewed on my Experian report this evening, both by -. The first is dated - -, -. I closed an account with - on or around this date, and I did not consent to any credit inquiry around such time. The other is dated - -, -. I called - on this date to access its internet services. The customer service representative informed me that unless I paid a deposit, the company would perform a " risk assessment '', which is a credit check. I asked if this would be a hard or soft inquiry, and she stated that it is a soft inquiry. I verified that this would not impact my credit score and she confirmed this. However, this check appears as a hard inquiry on my Experian report. I contacted - regarding this, and its staff stated that there is nothing they can do now since they have already made the inquiry.
