Hello. I like US Bank, so I decided to open checking and savings accounts there. To fund the new accounts I submitted - cashier 's checks from people that I knew only as clients. The amounts were $2400.00 and $1900.00, so I did n't ask for any money back, and I stressed that these were from people I did not know well. Still, they were official cashier 's checks, so I felt all would be well. However, the bank 's fraud dept determined later that they were forgeries. And HERE is my complaint : they closed my new accounts, marked me as a risk, said I could never have another US Bank account, and even charged me $19.00 for each returned deposit! Who knows what they put into - and -. I 'm afraid to try to open an account anywhere else. It is my hope that US Bank will reconsider their position and give me another chance. The cashier 's checks looked absolutely genuine. How was I to know they were forged?
