Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
I would like to bring to someone 's attention a scam being perpetrated by Synchrony Financial. In my case the bank requires payment by the - of the month. I receive my paycheck on the first of the month and pay my bills at that time. As a result, on several occasions, I paid my bill before receiving the hard copy of the bill from -. This has caused my account to accrue late payments ( for early payment ). How can someone receive a late payment for paying early? As a result, I contacted the bank and was advised that the bank 's computer system does not have the capability to accept payments between the - the - and apply these payments to the current month. As a result, a late fee is applied. I was advised to make payment after the - and before the - ( due date ) to avoid late payment fees. This computer glitch causes honest consumers to receive late payments. When challenged, I did receive a refund for the - fees below but was advised that only - fees can be refunded per year and that any additional fees will not be refunded. They did not admit to any irregularity with the billing system. The question is ; How many other honest consumers are being penalized for early payments and do n't know it? Note : I also have - - account with Synchrony and the same issue occurred.
