Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
On -/-/2016, I applied for a credit card from Wells Fargo since I have a checking account with Wells Fargo that both of my - retirement checks are direct deposited every month. Application # -. I was denied an unsecured credit card but offered a secured credit card. I applied and the bank said they were unable to verify my identity. They instructed me to go to a branch with my proof of identity and have a banker fax it to the credit department. I did that and was again denied because they claim they are unable to verify my identity. I sent corporate office in - -, California a complaint via certified mail, and attached copies of all my identification which was delivered on -/-/2016. They did not respond. On -/-/2016, I called Wells Fargo Executive Credit Cards at - and spoke with Sue. She said that she would check into it. We spoke the next day and she told me to go the branch and have manager, - - scan - documents that Sue requested so I would be approved. 2 days later - told me that they still can not verify my identity. I was extremely frustrated with Wells Fargo and on that same day I applied for a credit card from - and was approved. I believe that Wells Fargo Bank has discriminated against me because I am - under Federal Law and because both of my incomes are - retirement incomes, which are direct deposited into my Wells Fargo checking account.
