I have a credit card with Citibank. I made some charges at - -, and they were declined due to fraud alerts. I called Citibank and they said the issue was resolved and that I could re-do the charges and they would not be declined. I made the charges again, and again they were declined. I called back and stayed on the line with a representative while she removed the fraud alerts and said I could make the charges again. I made the charges again while on the line with the representative and was told they were fine and had gone through and would not be declined due to fraud detection problems again. The same charges were again declined the next day for reasons of fraud alert. By then, I was in - and had to call from abroad to resolve the same problem for a third time. The representative I spoke to, - - id - ) told me she agreed that I had been misled by the previous representative and that I had been told the issues had been resolved when they had not. I told her that I was now incurring international charges to resolve the problem


and had been told by a Citi representative that the issue was resolved and that the charges could be made and would not be declined, when in fact this was untrue. They declined to address the costs they had caused me in any way. I feel Citi should take some responsibility for the time and cost I incurred in fixing a problem that occurred on their end, caused by their representative telling me that she had fixed the fraud alerts on the account and that I could make the charges without any further interference from the fraud detection system when in fact this was not the case.
