Synchrony Bank via - opened a credit card account in my name. They sent me the card which I did not activate. Nevertheless they opened the credit card account and certain - charges ( all justified ) were charged to that account. - denied any association with Synchrony and Synchrony refused to close account unless I provided information they should not of had i.e. birthday, Social Security number etc. I refused and they told me there was nothing they could do to close the account. Numerous calls to Synchrony produced no resolution although they did waive an unauthorized $1.00 charge. After many complaints to - I finally received a letter from Synchrony stating I was a victim and someone had opened an account in my name. Yes, but it was Synchrony that opened the account and activated it without my permission not some unknown person.
