Citibank Bank account or service department,
Savings account Account opening, closing, or management Florida
When I opened a Citibank checking account, the bank was pretty adamant I open a savings account as well, which I did. My understanding was they were to be linked. I recently noticed that although I usually keep over $10000.00 balance, in the checking account, I am being charged a $25.00 service charge for the savings account which is usually only several hundred dollars..I believe it was a bank error in not linking the accounts. I spoke with them today, and requested retroactive credit, but they would only credit the current month 's charges. While it is true that I probably received statements showing this, and did not notice, or question this charge, I do n't believe the charges were ever warranted, or explained to me when I opened the account, especially since I really did n't need a savings account, and was under the impression my accounts were linked. In fact the front of my statement shows " relationship total '', which would support my understanding of " linkage '', and it is not until further into the statement pages does the service charge appear.
