Other bank product/service Using a debit or ATM card Georgia
On -/-/2016, I attempted to withdraw $60.00 from a Zions Bank ATM machine located at - - - -, -, UT. During the transaction, the machine malfunctioned and the door closed before I could extract my entire withdrawl. I was able to retrieve a torn $20.00 bill ; however, $40.00 went back into the machine and the door closed. I attempted a - transaction immediately following the - for $20.00 to see if I could get the original $40.00 to also release from the machine. It did not ; therefore, I was shorted $40.00. Later that day, I went into the Zions Bank branch and spoke with the manager. She advised that I would need to file a claim with my bank, -, and ask them to open an investigation. She stated that they would ask Zions to provide an audit report that would show that the machine did not balance the day I attempted my transaction, and that they would be able to issue a refund. On -/-/-, I filed the claim with -. They issued a provisional credit and began the investigation. On -/-/- I was notified that the ATM owner denied my claim, - was reversing the
they were not going to reopen the investigation. I asked them who provided the documentation used to deny the claim and specifically what information was provided. - advised that Zions Bank provided a transaction report showing that the transaction took place. I asked if they also received an audit report, and they stated that the records did not indicate that Zions provided this. A transaction report should never have been accepted as reasonable documentation. I 'm not disputing that the transaction took place. I did attempt to withdraw $60.00 from a Zions Bank ATM on -/-/2016. What I 'm disputing is that I did not receive all of my money from this transaction. Without an audit report that shows that this machine actually balanced on this date, Zions has failed to provide sufficient proof supporting their denial of our claim. Now I 'm short $40.00 and neither - nor Zions Bank seems to want to pursue the case to a reasonable conclusion.
