Equifax Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Account status Pennsylvania
This dispute and investigation is for Equifax Credit Bureau. I had - accounts with - - - as a - in college. These cards were opened at separate times, - in the - - and the other in - -. After losing my job at - I maintained the cards for a little bit but eventually fell behind and let everything crash. The cards were delinquent by the end of - of -. Equifax has it documented that the accounts were opened in - and the other in - which is completely inaccurate. The accounts are way older than that and should have been deleted no later than -. I have disputed with Equifax that the dates are inaccurate and that they be deleted but they failed to do a thorough investigation and to comply. Equifax also is stating the accounts were being paid on time from - to - where then I fell behind which is also untrue. The accounts have been delinquent for years prior. I believe they were allowing the creditor to falsify documents and misconstrue payment history to have the continuous right to keep pursuing me. Also in - - Equifax reported the same - accounts
have held me back. How can Equifax not recognize this debt as being old given that I was - at the time and I am now -. I just wanted to be done with the whole situation where they could n't drop my score anymore by citing " late payments '' so I paid the debt off earlier this year. These accounts still remain on my report and I DEMAND they BOTH be removed once and for all! I am also disputing the fact that they have - reported on my credit file. This account should NEVER have been to collections because I was charged twice for this debt before it went to collections ( hence the lack of payment ) because I was n't paying a third time. I had it deleted from my credit file a couple times but as the debt holders changed Equifax keeps allowing it to come back on my report as collections which effects my score drastically. I paid the " debt '' off AGAIN in - - just so it would n't appear again and to protect my credit score. This account still remains on my report and I DEMAND it be deleted!
