Capital One Credit card department,
A merchant mistakenly charged my credit card in the amount of $2900.00 ( the order number ) instead of $290.00 ( the purchase amount ). The larger sum was immediately withdrawn from my account, and despite a prompt void of that transaction, MasterCard and or Capital One bank is refusing to credit my account immediately. I have been told it will take 3-5 business days to post back to my account. I assume the banks are earning interest on that sum while I am left without available credit. As a - I occasionally need to rely on short term credit to cover cash flow shortfalls. This has left me in a position of having to use my cash reserves to purchase materials, when that should go to payroll. It seems unfair that the banks can tie up my credit in such a fashion.
