-/-/- I received a denial of credit I requested a copy of the free credit report and noted that Experian was carrying a collection from - - in California. I contacted Experian an asked them to verify and or validate the debt. I filed a dispute in writing and shortly after received a notification that I should contact the collection agency. I contacted the Collection agency - - twice and initally they did not respond. I contacted Experian and they kept extending the debt. Meanwhile I continued to research the debt myself. I received a letter from Experian stating that they had received a letter from the Collection Agency and the addresses matched, Interestingly enough I moved to this address - after residing outside of - since -/-/- .The debt is listed to having occurred in -/-/- and the address is listed in - - - Interestingly enough I mentioned to both - - and Experian in writing that I resided in - - from -/-/--/-/-, prior to that I had never been to - - and this was the address they listed on the " bill '' .I verified to Experian that in -/-/--/-/- I resided in - other
On -/-/- I received a letter from - - in the right hand corner of the letter was the phone number - and in the body of the letter they listed the phone number -. They demanded $6500.00, claiming the original alledged debt was - and that a fee of $1600.00 was assessed. The letter was signed Compliamce Department. No Name. I attempted to call the - numbers and they were listed as non working and disconnected.respectively. The letter is dated -/-/- They enclosed a " bill '' listing my address in - - which should not have been associated with them as I only referred to the address as my address for the past two years. The bill is stating that it covers -/-/- and does not have tan official letter head from the school or a signatureor phone number. They also enclosed a statement of student terms and conditions with no signature, no school heading or contact number. Experian could not have investigated my dispute and it appeas that they accepted a fraudulent debt from a scammer. A simple research by me online revealed that several people had been scammed by this scammer posing as - - since -/-/- in the State of -. Other people received similar debt demands with the same disconnected number and no signature or contact information I have asked Experian to nremove the debt six times. Instead they keep trying to extend the date by a week or two. Please help me remove this fraudulent account. it is the only thing on my credit file because I resided outside of the country from -/-/--/-/-. -/-/- my wallet was stolen in - - and it created a great deal of problems, fortunately I was able to resolve it with individual companies, but Experian is continuing to be stubborn and negligent. I have been taken advantage of by - - - and - - claiming they can assist me, but they took my money and did nothing. I respectfully request your assistance, Kind regards, - - - - - - - - - -, - - -
