Citibank Credit card department,
I was deceived about a promotional rate via chat with Citibank. I was told the promotion for purchases was already available on my account and no other action was required. I have now received my first statement and I was charged at the standard APR. When I called I did n't get any resolution. I spoke with several managers who advised the rate did n't even exist. I explained numerous times that I had printed the chat transcripts and I needed them to be pulled as proof that I was offered the promotion. I was also told chat agents are not authorized to provide promos that consumers must call to have offers activated. I feel like Citibank is using unfair and deceptive practices to entice consumers to use their card under false pretenses. I was never offer any resolution to my issue after to speaking to - manager in a total of 2 hours. When I asked managers to pull the transcripts I was told I do n't work in chats so I do n't know if we even save those. I wonder how many other consumers were blatantly lied to and never even bothered to look at their statement cause they trusted their creditor. Also the Citibank website makes it very difficult to view statements if your enrolled in paperless statements and I 'm wondering if this is a strategic move to continue such abusive and deceptive practices.
