I currently bank with wells fargo. I pay my bills through online banking bill pay. I pay my bills on time, all the time. About a year ago - sent me a paper bill that was huge!! I called them and they told me that I had not paid my bills for over 3 months, they were ready to shut off my electricity. I said NO, I did pay my bills and I have proof. I faxed her the Wells Fargo online history of payments. The gal at - looked into it and said that my payments went to some other account and that they would try to straighten it out. I thought it was a - problem. Then she told me that my account numbers for paying had been changed so that my bank account and - account were no longer " linked. '' I told her to change it back. She said, no, that it was Wells Fargo that changed my account numbers and they needed to change it back. I actually did n't believe her. So I look at my Bill Pay, I see the account numbers, and it shows the same as it has always shown. So I called Wells Fargo, I complain deeper and deeper into the company and finally a gal tells me that, yes, my account numbers had been changed " back of the house '' and no she did n't know why. I asked how they could change my account numbers and not tell me. And I could n't even see that they were changed. They never admitted anything but I could tell that something was wrong. This took many, many frustrating hours over about 10 days to resolve.
