Unsolicited issuance of credit card New Jersey
I received an unsolicited - branded credit card from Chase. I called Chase at ( - ) -. I submitted the card number and was asked to verify my personal information. The information was correct except for the telephone number. Scary. I was given the telephone number of - credit reporting agency and told to request a credit freeze. I did as directed. - sent a confirmation letter with instructions on how to navigate the credit freeze. No information was given as to how this account was opened. I learned from news media that another bank has been fined for this practice. Evidently, this is an industry practice that CFPB should be correcting.
