JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing California
On -/-/2016 I applied in-branch for the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Chase did a hard pull on my - credit report and immediately declined me for " too many cards open in the past 24 months ''. Upon calling - services, they explained to me that they have a rule called -. If you have opened - or more credit card accounts in the past 24 months, you will be automatically declined for a most varieties of Chase cards, regardless of your credit score or history with Chase. I have top notch credit and excellent history with Chase. I have opened exactly - new credit card accounts in the past 24 months. If Chase wants to do that, they certainly have the right to. But nowhere, in any brochure or disclosure, does Chase warn you of the - rule. It is only after you apply that they inform you. This is a deceptive lending practice, and hurts my credit by putting a hard pull on my credit report for absolutely nothing. If Chase wants to continue with -, it needs to be clearly disclosed on every advertisement, brochure, and application disclosure in order for the consumer to make an informed decision.
