Hello CFPB, After applying for a home loan refinance, I discovered that my current HELOC with Citibank Account # - was not being reported correctly to the credit bureaus. Citi reported the loan with a - outstanding balance. This is not the case as the attached statement will attest. Due to this error in credit reporting, my refinance mortgage company can not submit the loan package to underwriting and the loan is currently at a stand still and due to time constraints I am in danger of losing my loan rate lock. To move forward with the loan they requested a letter from Citi stating the following : " To fix your credit here are the items we need in a letter from Citibank : - State that the reported $0.00 balance is an error - State the current loan balance amount - State that the loan has been paid every month as agreed for the last 12 months - State that there are No Disputes associated with the loan ( if it is still in dispute in their system tell them that you are no longer disputing anything ) - Include the loan number and name of the borrowers '' I contacted Citibank on -/-/2016 and spoke with customer service rep -, explained the situation and requested the letter with the above statements. He opened a support case # -, said it would take -5 business days to receive the letter. I called Citi back - and was informed that my case was closed, and that they could not produce any letter and offered no help to resolve the incorrect credit reporting error.
