My car loan with US Bank is on auto-pay from my checking account. While I do not write a check, US Bank requires that my bank send them a check, which they do monthly without exception. In 2015 US Bank received a check and entered an account number on the face of the check. That account number was incorrect. As a result, that payment did not post in time. I manually made a second payment to ensure that the account was up to date. The payment was flagged as late and US Bank charged me a late fee. My bank contacted US Bank, explained the error and the fee was waived. Temporarily. The fee was later reinstated and now US Bank is charging a fee on top of the late fee every month until the late fee is paid. The account continues to be on auto-pay and principal and interest in full are paid on time each month. This unfair fee is up to $110.00 as of today 's date. All of this as a result of US Bank 's own error. I have contacted them and explained the circumstances to them for which their call center employees have no response other than they will look into and call me back. They never have. I would like this fee waived as it was the fault of US Bank and auto-payments have been made on time without exception from the inception of the loan.
