I was being fraudulently charged for a gym membership that I had cancelled over 1-year ago. Throughout this year of additional charges, I had called Chase 6 different times to explain that I needed them to block the fraudulent gym membership charges from going through on my credit card. Chase failed to block these charges. As a result, I reported this to the CFPB. When Chase found out I had reported them to the CFPB for failing to protect me as a consumer, they raised the interest rates on my credit cards as retaliation. I just got a notice this week saying my interest rates went up. Chase provided no legitimate reason for raising my interest rates ; the company did this solely to punish me for reporting their previous behavior.
