JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Utah
I opened an account with Washington Mutual in - -. My last statement with WAMU was on - -, Chase Bank had bought out WAMU. Chase raised my interest rate from 8.95 to 10.24 and also dropped my credit limit from $4200.00 to $4000.00 when I was close to that limit. My Chase account was closed on - -. Amount on my account at the time was $4000.00. For 4 months after my account was closed, interest and fees totaling $390.00 were added. My credit report showed that Chase " charged off '' $4500.00 which is $140.00 more than what they reported was " charged off '' and $530.00 more than what my account was closed with.
''. Chase sold my account to -, a collection agency. The first letter I received from - was in the amount of $5200.00, which was a lower amount on my credit report. The $5200.00 is $760.00 more than Chase had " wrote off '' and $620.00 more than what Chase had reported was " charged off ''. - should of never been able to add that much. I was n't using the card and the amount on the card was going up faster than when I was using the card. I dealt with - and they took their name off my credit report. Chase reported 2 times and - reported 1 time. This was - strikes against me and I was a homeless Veteran for 36+ months because of this error and lack of communication. Chase claims they " report accurate information '', I guess more than one time, if they choose.
