Checking account Making/receiving payments, sending money Texas
I bank with Chase and on - -, - I decided to call the claims department to dispute ACH withdrawals on my checking account that I had been paying for over a period of about two years to a company called - - -. This company -, contacted me after an inquiry on a ad that indicated that student loans would be forgiven through an Obama Program for relief on student loans. They gave the impression of representing the Department of Education and I believed they were helping me get debt reduction on student loans and that my payments were going to be as little as - dollars a month to pay them off. I was very excited as I had just moved to the US from - - and was starting a new life and getting on my feet after a financial crisis in - -. I had graduated college and could not find a job. The - seemed God sent. I was going to slowly but steadily pay down my student loans at last. So I signed up to the " program '' and payed a fee of - dollars and set up automatic withdrawals from my chase
loans showed a past due amount. This alarmed me so I went online and after a quick researched realized this company was being accused of being a scam and fraudulent company by CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU. I was in shock and scared and angry! I downloaded the consent order and of course their was no way to contact - anywhere. I called Chase Bank claims department and reported it immediately I saw I was within my 2 month period of the notice that the company was a scam and I disputed the illegal transactions presented to my account. Chase provided a credit to my checking account and stated they would resolve the investigation and send documents to me regarding my claim. I was relieved to see I was getting protected by my bank and that they had my back. This is not the case. I waited and contacted them various times to see how things were resulting. After five weeks they send a letter in the mail indicating that the transactions were correct and that they would reverse the credit on my account on - -, - because I did not report it within a three month period as their policy suggests! I was a Victim of fraud I argued how would I know two years back, I totally trusted the company to be true. It is illegal what they did and that I had reported within a three month period as soon as there were reports of the company - to be a scam. So - decided to open up a new company under a different name and charged a electronic check again from the account another - dollars! I visited the bank branch to report this in person and was informed that the account had been restricted due to fraud and was going to close. So they accepted it was fraud but not return my money. I opened a new account and they processed the reversal to that new checking account and my savings a whopping - dollars. I was overdrawn and penny less -/-/- unable to pay rent and car payments. Not to mention all the returned item fees from other merchants that withdrew electronically from the previous account that was frozen do to the - fraud! I was so upset and lost it has caused me economic hardship and even affected my credit score. I need some help. When I called Chase claims they said to file a civil suit. To Who? - is dissolved and are up and running through a different name continuing to do what they do best scamming innocent people with dreams and hopes of a better future. If there is any way I can receive help please contact me!
