Closing/Cancelling account Florida
My husband and I were getting an amicable divorce and we were both working at closing joint accounts. He called to close the Chase Sapphire Care but it turned out I had opened it so he could not close it. This action was turned into a security breach and from then on I tried but could not close the card. I explained the situation but no one would believe me and kept stalling me. I received a letter from Chase dated - - referring to a request for a copy of the statement. There had been no request for this. Finally, on - - I reached someone who could close the account. At that point I realized that there had been a $3100.00 credit remaining. The agent who helped me said she would send me a check for that amount. I called several times to ask about the check and finally on -/-/- after speaking to - people I was told that " the check was in the mail. '' It could take up to 7 days to receive the check. Along the way I had visited the Chase Bank down the street and was told that the account was
expedited it was refused. My husband and I opened separate Chase cards but now I am sorry I did. Your customer service is usually substandard and it takes several transfers to get the right person. It is - - and I still have not received my refund. I think Chase should at least give us something to make up for the long delay and the poor service we experienced. When you lose your card the response is immediate but returning customer 's money and especially clearing up " security breaches '' is very slow. The last purchase on this statement was -/-/- and the balance was paid on time perhaps before the refund of $3100.00 was received. We have used our Chase card for everything for all this time and were loyal customers.
