In or around - 2015, Specialized Loan Servicing inaccurately reported my - 2015 loan payment as 30 days or more late ; however, my payment was not late as it was made on - -, 2015. Specialized Loan Servicing failed to credit my account on the date of receipt in violation of the Code of Federal Regulations ( CFR ), specifically 226.36 ( c ). The CFR specifically states " no servicer shall fail to credit a payment to a consumer 's loan account as of the date of receipt, except when a delay in crediting does not result in any charge to the consumer or in the reporting of negative information to a consumer reporting agency. '' As a direct result, my consumer credit report was adversely impacted resulting in higher interest rates on credit cards and loans. Moreover, I was also turned down for credit.
