I have a joint account with my mom at chase. She passed away last year, so the account was dormant for a while. I received a new card from the bank, and i remembered i have that account. i used it one time to check if it was still active, and it was. on - -, I deposited - checks at a local ATM. the transaction went through. the following day, i went on line to check on it, and could not find the account. I called the bank helpline and was informed that the account was closed. there was no email or letter sent. and that they said they closed it on -/-/-. i called the local bank where the checks were deposited. I explaines to them that the money is a loan, and was intended for a family vacation that my family was looking forward to, and that we are leaving that coming sunday. they said they were going to mail the checks, expedited. the vacation came and went, we still have not received the checks. i called their local bank again, only to be informed that i have to file a claim instead. and that the claim takes 10 days, again to be processed. and that tere is no way to expedite this.
