Immediately upon viewing my Janauary 2016 Chase Freedom Credit Card statement around - -, I called the credit card customer service concerning an unrecognized account activity of $1200.00 dated -/-/-16- Agent Fee Travel Service. When I spoke with the representative, he asked me if I purchased an airline ticket on that day, I checked my records and saw that I purchased a ticket to - CO for $360.00 with " - '', However, there was an overchange of $840.00. The rep. told me that they can not assist me because I had given the merchant authorization to charge my credit card and it did not matter the amount. He said I had to take it up with the merchant. I followed his instructions which was unsuccessfull even through they admitted that they made a mistake by overcharging me $840.00. On -/-/16 after speaking with someone who had a similar experience and whose credit card company assisted them, I decided to call them back immediately. The representative told me that the time had passed for me to file a complaint and there is nothing that they could do. I am highly upset because if I was given the correct information when I first called in - I would not be going through the frustration and headaches that I 'm going through to this day. I asked to speak with a supervisor on that day and explained my frustration, she advised me to write a letter explaining what happened, including the dates, individuals and copies of all correspondents with the merchant and the fact that a supervisor of the merchant company admitted that they over charged my card. Again I followed their instruction. On - - I received a reply from the credit card company stating that the charge remains valid due to the significant amount of time that has passed, and the merchant unwillingness to honor their request.
