Prior to -/-/- I knowingly and voluntarily co-signed on - of my sister 's private student loans taken through CitiBank for her master 's program. Subsequently, beginning in - - and continuing through - without my consent or authorization -/-/- more private student loans were issued to my sister using my electronic endorsement. - Bank purchased the loans at some point after the loans were issued. In - -, I sent dispute letters to - requesting verification of the debt. In - - - responded and insists that because my social security number, date of birth and address were provided on the request to open the - additional accounts, they are valid and I am financially responsible. I sent a second series of letters to - in - - challenging the validity of the endorsement and requesting information to demonstrate that the applications for each of the disputed loans were in fact endorsed by me. I also requested a copy of the assignment or purchase agreement between - and CitiBank for each of the accounts. To date no response to the second set of dispute letters has been received. In - - I did receive a letter from - informing
I have sent - sets of disputes to the - major credit bureaus for each of the six ( 6 ) loans based on the fact that I did not sign or authorize my signature to be used on these loans. Each of the agencies has responded and claim that their investigation shows that I am responsible for each of the loans and they will continue to report the delinquency for each loan. When all is said and done, while I did agree to co-sign on - loans for my sister prior to -/-/-, I did not authorize my endorsement for the private student loans taken in -/-/- and -/-/-. Also please let it be known that there is NO pending litigation on this dispute.
